Her Potential, Our Purpose
The Wonder Woman Program (WWP) enables young women transitioning out of institutional care to build independent, dignified, and self-directed lives through long-term education, mentorship, and community support.

The Wonder Woman Program 〰️
a 3-5 year educational fellowship to navigate adulthood with confidence, purpose, and dignity
for young women, aged 18-23, transitioning from institutional childcare to independent living
through a life-long mentorship, funding for higher education, career support, and safe housing
We exist to ensure that care does not end when childhood does.
-
As young women leave childcare institutions and step into independent life in India, they face critical challenges such as finding safe housing, obtaining identity documents, accessing education and jobs, and receiving the support they need to thrive.
-
Aftercare for young women from institutional care backgrounds is inconsistent, fragmented, or absent. Education alone is not enough without emotional, financial, and social support. These young women need time, trust, and continuity.
-
We focus on the transition phase from care to independent adulthood. Support begins at 18, when institutional care ends and real-world vulnerability begins.
Out goal is to ensure every young woman we reach has the access to higher education, skills, and confidence to shape their own future.
A key project of Active Canvas Foundation, the Wonder Woman Program was established in 2022, starting with a team of just two and growing to five. We’ve reached out to 400+ CCIs for candidates and received 100+ applications for each of our three cohorts so far. Together, we are building a future where every young woman from a CCI background has the freedom to dream, the support to grow, and the strength to lead.
